Frequently Asked Questions

What age children do you accept?

We accept children beginning with ages 6 weeks through 5 years for our full day program, and Kindergarten through 12 years for our after-school, holiday, and summer camp program.

Do you have a Curriculum that you use?

Our exclusive Fast Track Curriculum is designed specifically for every developmental stage of education with theme-based units, specific learning activities and teacher-friendly lesson plans. As a parent, rest assured your child is benefiting and advancing from the most innovative curriculum available based on national standards.

Are you accredited?

We are one of only two preschools in all of Cobb County to be both nationally accredited by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and a Center of Distinction as designated by the State of Georgia, the highest quality designation awarded to preschools. In addition, Kids 'R' Kids is the first national early childhood education franchise to be granted District Accreditation from the AdvancED Accreditation commission, the national commission that confers the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA/CASI, SACS/CASI and NWAC) accreditation seal. No other East Cobb preschool can make these claims.

Can parents log in and view their child's classroom via Internet cameras?

Yes, our Watch Me Grow internet viewing system gives you peace of mind and securely connects parents and other family members to their child while at work or thousands of miles away. Using a secure encrypted internet site and unique password, you can observe your child's daily activities via multiple classroom cameras The same camera views are fed to the front desk for additional monitoring by administrative staff. This service IS INCLUDED in the price of your tuition - we do not nickel and dime you by charging an extra fee for this service.

Do you offer enrichment classes that are included in the price of the tuition?

Yes, we offer the following classes included in your tuition: Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, Yoga, and Music and Movement classes.  Once again - no extra fees for you the parent.

Do you offer both full time and part time care?

With the exception of our infant room, we offer both full and part time enrollment.  Since we are a year round preschool, we give preference for spaces to full time children.  With this in mind, we try to and generally do accommodate requests for part time schedules but ask part time parents to be as flexible as possible with the days they attend.

What are your teacher to child ratios?

This is an important question.  Many centers only follow state minimum guidlelines and have as few teachers in a room as allowed by law.  However, as a NAEYC accredited preschool, we voluntarily adhere to higher standards and as a general rule, we have an extra teacher in most of our classrooms.  For example, we have a 1:4 teacher to child ratio in our infant room, as opposed to the state mandated minimum of 1:6.  Having an extra teacher in a classroom allows for teaching and education and higher quality care, as opposed to just babysitting.

Is transportation provided to local schools?

Our center has school buses (not unsafe vans) with seat belts to transport children from local elementary schools to our center in the afternoons. We currently pick up after school at Mt. Bethel, Sope Creek, East Side, and East Valley Elementary Schools. We do not provide transportation in the mornings from our center to any schools.

Are field trips offered for the children?

Yes, our buses are available for area field trips. We transport children who meet the state's age requirements. These children are given opportunities to see their community and other places of interest year-round. Whether it is the local grocery store, the petting zoo, the library, a museum, and entertainment places such as roller skating, bowling or putt-putt golf, we provide fun and learning for the children.

Is playtime/outdoor time available?

Yes, our schools are equipped with three areas of outside play, one for our Infants and Toddlers, one for our Preschoolers, and one for our Pre-Kindergarten and After-School Program.  We also have a splash pad / water park that children can enjoy during warmer weather.  The children have scheduled times in the morning and the afternoon to explore their outside world. As an added safety feature, our schools have six-foot tall fencing around the outside perimeter of the play areas. The play equipment is state-of-the-art, and Kids 'R' Kids abides by the federal regulations on safety equipment and the surrounding fall zones.

Are meals and snacks provided?

Yes, we serve hot meals and nutritional snacks with an emphasis on healthy eating. For example, we serve Springer Mountain Farms chicken which are 100% All Natural with NO Antibiotics, NO Growth Stimulants or Hormones, and are NEVER fed Animal By-products... they only receive a Vegetarian Diet with natural vitamins and minerals and fresh mountain water.  Our location is equipped with a full-service commercial kitchen and staff trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children.

Is your staff trained?

Yes, the Kids 'R' Kids faculty are required to follow the state regulations that apply to training. All staff are required to take classes in First Aid/CPR, Infectious Disease Control, Injury Prevention, and Child Abuse Awareness. Additional training in curriculum, child development, classroom arrangement, classroom management, age-appropriate activities, nutrition, field trip planning and OSHA regulations provide the skills needed to create a quality learning environment. The staff is encouraged to further their education through CDA and CCP programs and are given opportunities to attend professional training conferences.
